Gallaudet football
copied from a tweet:
a college I went to has a reputation for beating
a deaf college in a football game, getting REAL
cocky and screaming their plays and losing miserably
because deaf people know how to read lips.
DeafDigest Sports comment:
Gallaudet football players do not read lips during
the games, and they win because they play better
than the hearing opponents. This above comment
is false.
It is a fact, though, that hearing opponents hate
to lose to Gallaudet, not just in football but
in all other sports.

Last night game CHCH 65 MPS 62
CHCH’s three points were our nightmare, we were not able to stop their hot
shooting from trey area. It looked to me that home court was their favored
to beat us. We got bad start from the beginning which CHCH were up 14
points lead over us. We fought and fought back to the game and got back
within 4 points down in halftime. The second half we got off with better
start and climbed up with 6 points lead. CHCH came back with their 3
points scoring. It was battle from there to the end. CHCH escaped with a
victory. They scored 12 – 3 points area. They also played their double
trapping all over the court and was able to sub their 5 players on every
two – 3 minutes on every quarters. We only played with our top 5-6 players
while they subbed all of their ten players. I am so proud of our boys at
they fought back and was able to keep the game close till the end. Kacey
Monahan led the team with 18 points, 15 rebounds and 2 blocks. While Dylan
Christoffels added 16 points respectively a
nd Kyle Florio only played two quarters with 11 points.

St Mary’s boys basketball
The SMSD Bisons took on The Falk JV team this afternoon in their 2017-18
season opener in Gallagher Gym. The game started off fast with both teams
running the court and playing a fast style of basketball. Nick Barrus and
Kassim Kassim ran an up tempo and aggressive backcourt. The frontcourt
consisted of Christian Lawrence, Ryan Brzezinski and Isa Habeeb. Dalton
Planty returned to the Bisons squad this season and contributed on both
ends of the court. The Bisons have a good mix of size and speed this year
and it helped them to a 62-39 win over Falk. Nick Barrus led all scorers
with 33 points and 7 steals. Isa Habeeb had a solid performance at center
with 10 points and 8 rebounds. Adnan Abdi and Givon Blackwell game off
the bench and showed hustle and court presence as well.
Our next game is Thursday, December 21st against NYSSD Rome.
