Q & A on Deaf Sports issues

Q. Why is SWCID allowed to field
sports teams (basketball) while
NTID cannot field their own varsity
sports teams?

A. RIT is a NCAA member. NCAA does not
allow NTID to field its own varsity
teams since it is part of the RIT
campus. SWCID is a junior college,
and even though it is part of Howard
College, junior college rules are
different, meaning SWCID is allowed
to have its own basketball teams,
separate and apart from Howard
College athletics.

note:
Almaty, Kazinform?

Where is it?

It is the largest city in Kazakhstan, which was formerly part
of the old Soviet Empire (old Russia).
