Helmet Bowl

Gallaudet football versus San Diego State football

Everyone is excited about the upcoming
National Championship football game
between Alabama and Georgia. Right
now the Gallaudet community is all excited
about competing against San Diego State
in the championship finals! It is not a
football game, but a Football Helmet
championship. The public votes for their
favorite helmet design. On the way to
the championship finals, Gallaudet defeated
Cheyney, Ohio State, Colgate, Army,
Kennesaw State and now it is matched up
against San Diego State University.

The Colorado School for the Deaf and the Blind Athletic Department is
seeking coaches for the following sports:

Kentucky boys’ basketball

Kentucky School for the Deaf vs Atlanta Area School for the Deaf in
Danville, KY.

KSD – 6 12 2 11- 31
AASD- 23 13 17 9- 62

KSD (0-10) Howard 12, Ward 8, Collins 7, Miller 2, Dorn 2.

AASD- McCabe 9, King 22, Nasir 1, Dixon 4, Tavares 1, Stackhouse 25.

It was KSDÿÿs first game back after the holidays break. KSD opened the
game with a 4-0 lead in the first four minutes. It was all AASD for the
rest of the game. Rebounding continues to be KSDÿÿs main weaknesses this
year after allowing AASD to grab 25 offense rebounds. And KSD couldnÿÿt
keep up with AASDÿÿs quickness.

KSD- shot 14-69

Howard 12 points 11 rebounds. A double-double.

John Collins a season high of 7 points.

Miller and Ward- 9 rebounds each while Dorn has 8.

KSD – season high 15 steals led by Dornÿÿs 5 while Howard has 4.

Next game- on January 5th.

KSD (0-11) Howard 20, Ward 15, Collins 2, Miller 2, Dorn 2, Haynes 4,

AASD- McCabe 8, Dixon 20, Stackhouse 10, King 11 Nasir 10, Taveres 3.

KSD had to play its third game in two days and played Atlanta Area School
for the Deaf for consecutive days. Fatigue played a big part on KSD. KSD
was able to score 20 points in the final quarter thanks to man-man
defense.

KSD- shot 22-74

Howard 20 points and 11 rebounds. A double-double.

Richard Ward a career high 15 points.

Payne Yance- 5 assists.

Ward and Howard three steals each.

KSD (0-12) Howard 30, Ward 8, Miller 2, Yance 5, Haynes 3, Collins 2.

GSD- Panrayo 2, Brown 43, Royal 8.

KSD has to play its second game within a few hours after playing its first
game of the day against Atlanta Area SD. Fatigue played a huge part in
KSD. KSD couldnÿÿt stop DeMarco Brown of GSD as he piled up 43 on them.
KSD shot a season high of 82 field goal attempts and 50 points was also a
season high. Aaron Howard has a career highs in points and rebounds with
30 and 18.

KSD- shot 20-82

KSD- 60 rebounds a season high. KSD has four players grabbing 7 or more
rebounds. Howard 18, Ward 7, Dorn 9, Miller 8.

KSD- 14 steals led by Howardÿÿs 6.

26 turnovers.

Player of the game: Aaron Howard 30 points 18 rebounds and 6 steals.

Team registration forms for USADB 2018. Team fee is $400 then goes up
to $450 after 72 hours after each respective regional tournament
