Gallaudet women’s basketball

Gallaudet upended by Wilson in final minutes

WASHINGTON – The Gallaudet University women’s basketball team
relinquished a promising lead to Wilson College here Wednesday night in
the Field House in Padden Court as the Bison lost the close North Eastern
Athletic Conference (NEAC) game by four, 61-57.

The Bison (6-10, 4-4 NEAC) held a 33-21 lead at the half but were
outscored 40-24 in the second half and were limited to just six points in
the fourth quarter in the loss to Wilson (7-8, 3-4 NEAC).

Phoenix guard Jordyn Day recorded her 1,000th career point as she finished
with a game-high 22 points and five rebounds. Day made several of her five
three-pointers in the first

Gallaudet (6-10, 4-4 NEAC) came out hot with a quick run in the first
quarter as it built an 11-point lead less than three minutes into the
game.

Junior guard Hannah Neild (Litchfield, N.H.) and senior forward Kelsey
Hudson (Blissfield, Mich.) both got double-doubles in the loss. Neild
scored 21 points and grabbed 10 rebounds while Hudson netted 10 points and
12 rebounds.

GU falls to Wilson in NEAC South Division contest

WASHINGTON – The Gallaudet University men’s basketball team dropped a
75-61 contest to Wilson College here Wednesday night in the Field House on
Padden Court in a North Eastern Athletic Conference (NEAC) South Division
showdown.

Gallaudet (3-12, 3-5 NEAC) kept things close in the second half as it
scored 41 points to the 44 netted by the Phoenix after the Bison trailed
by 11 at the half, 31-20.

Senior forward Andy Cruz (Bronx, N.Y.) scored a game-high 19 points to go
with a career-high 19 rebounds. Freshman guard Preston Kelly (Fishers,
Ind.) chipped in 14 points and five rebounds in the loss.

Wilson (11-5, 5-2) picked up its fifth straight win after four players
scored in double figures. Keion Adams led the way with 16 points and three
three-pointers.

The Delaware team traveled to Trenton, NJ to play the Colts. Naim Webb had
an unbelievable game! He scored 28 points, pulled down 21 rebounds, had 3
assists and 4 steals. You can’t play any better than that. Chris Brown
had
13 points, 7 rebounds, 4 assists and 2 steals. Nasir Gurgaus also had 13
points, pulled down 9 rebounds, 6 assists, 1 block and 4 steals. Miguel
Dominguez had his best game of the season adding 7 points, 9 rebounds, 1
assist and 2 steals.

The Lady Colts met the DSD team again. They played in the championship
game
of NJSD Tip Off Tournament. The same results happened. De’Avian Watson
had
a superb game scoring most of the Lady Colts points with 14, pulled down
14
rebounds, had 1 assist, 8 blocks and 4 steals. Giezi Teuttle added the
other 4 points, pulled down 5 rebounds, had 3 assists, 1 block and 2
steals.

 The games scheduled for 1/9/18 at Warren Tech has been rescheduled to
2/7/18.

The game scheduled for 1/17/18 at Delaware School for the Deaf had to be
cancelled due to transportation problems.
