Florida boys’ basketball

Dragons 21
Halifax 57
Halftime score: FSDB 15 – 32 Halifax

After hanging in there 10-12 for the first quarter, we had no answer for
Halifax’s game.  Halifax played extremely well, and we were flat.  I’m
hoping we can attribute this game to the Mason Dixon hangover.  We have 4
games left this season to improve
our win total.

Season record: 11-7

Next game: 1/25 at River City Science Academy (Jax). Tip off at 7.  MS
Boys play at 5:30.

MPS 65 International School of Boston 28

MPS traveled to Cambridge to play on small court at ISB. Two years ago we
lost to them due to different size and was not able to compete with ISB’s
hot scorer. This time was different. We came and played better with mental
prepared. We got off with see saw battle with them until Dylan made a
trey. It started to fire on us. We had 8-0 run then led all the way. In
halftime, MPS were up by 14 points. Onto second half, we became more relax
and able to defend them well. Junior, Kacey Monahan had his best night
with 30 points, 14 rebounds and 4 blocks. While Senior Dylan Christoffels
added 20 points, 6 rebounds and 3 steals. Our bench players finally came
out with some good shot, defense and gained their confidence in the game.

Dylan C is only 9 points shy of his 1000th points. The last player that we
had with 1000th points, was Ashley Kingston in 2013. Since five years we
have not seen anyone to reach that plateau.

Our next home game is tomorrow at MPS vs. CCA at 4pm. Please come and
witness this special honor of Dylan’s career.

Our record now is 8-6, MIL 2-3

Michigan girls’ basketball

We played against Merritt today and lost 6-65. We shot 5.7% (2-35) with
0-29 (2pt) and 2-6 (3pt). We also shot 0-4 free throw. My team was
overwhelmed with the opponent’s speed, athletic, and lots of veterans
players on their roster. My team was lead with Rina Manssora, Junior, 3
points and one steal and Violetta Colter, Junior, 3 points 1 offense
rebound and 3 steals. Next game will be this Thursday against St. Thomas
More Academy in our home court.

MSD.        0.   3.     0.    3
Merritt.    22. 12.   15.  16

Our current records are 0-4

By halftime, our Roadrunners were leading by 16 points. Our starters did
not do well in 3rd quarter and they were benched for a while. ATC grabbed
the opportunity and soon they were down by only 8 points. I let my first
five back in, finally they showed aggression and hustle. Junior Deven
Thompson scored 37 points and 21 rebounds while Senior Jonathan Garcia had
13 points.
