Best highlight of this game was Kacey Monahan with 1000th points. MPS took
with their second string players to start the game. They did performing
their possible best and led the team with 25-6 in halftime. MPS returned
with their first string at the second half and Kacey Monahan scored his
milestone on trey area. He led the team with 11 points while 8th grader,
Slavik Sukhostev added 10 points respectively. Senior Dylan Christoffels
finished his basketball career for MPS with 1,066 points. It was a great
honor to see two players hit their milestone at the same season. Only one
player that will leave the team next year and MPS boys basketball looks
promising and brighter next season.

Completed season with 15-9 record.

Chicago Bulls vs Dallas Mavericks’ 4-man defense

to laugh or to cry

The Bulls, last night, failed to score against
Dallas Mavericks’ accidential 4-man defense. The
Bulls, however, won.

Can’t happen to deaf?

Well, three examples:

#1
Gallaudet, in a 1969-70 game against George Mason
University, was down to three players because
of foul-outs, but still won the game 91-88 in
two overtimes. It was the team’s only win in a
1-22 season!

#2
in football, during Andy Bonheyo’s first season
as Maryland SD football coach, they faced
Model Deaf. Model had the ball on the Maryland
goal line. By accident, Maryland only had
10 players on defense for two goal line plays.
Yet, Maryland not only stopped Model twice
but won the game!

#3
in baseball, Maryland again only had 8 players
as the 9th player was thrown out of the game
by the umpire, during the Dummy Hoy championship
game two years ago against Indiana Deaf. And
Maryland won!

So, if it happens to hearing, it will also happen
to the deaf.

……………………………………….

deaf college athlete

Todd Honas
freshman
football
University of Nebraska

he made the team as a freshman walk-on, but apparently
has not seen action throughout the season. His name
was not on the Nebraska stats sheets. He was listed
on the roster as wide receiver and special teams
player.

………………………………………

elite deaf athlete

Kevin Grendell
pitcher
Mobile Bay Bears (2017, last team)

is a free agent. Maybe he will pitch in an independent
league, not affiliated with Organized Ball

He pitched for two teams in 2017 as a relief pitcher;
giving up 5.63 ERA for one team and 10.93 ERA for
Mobile Bay Bears.
