mock draft, a “Gallaudet” player to keep an eye on
NFL draft is coming up real soon
Is there a real Gallaudet player to keep an eye on?
No.
But here is this posting today:
one player to keep an eye on will be Brian Murphy, a deaf tight end who
played college football at Gallaudet University in Washington DC. Many
scouts believe Murphy was talented enough to be taken in the first round
of the NFL draft, had it not been for his impairment.
It also says:
Get Brian Murphy involved in the game. He’s a big-time receiving threat
and will be a frequent target in the passing game
it refers to the movie – The Replacements. This movie is mentioned
from time to time as one of the best fictional football movies.

deaf at basketball camp
a web posting
Tamika Catchings conducts free basketball camp
Forme Tennessee Lady Vols star Tamika Catchings was in Knoxville over the
weekend to conduct a free basketball camp. Over a dozen campers among the
50 there are hearing-impaired, something that Catchings suffered herself
growing up.
Catchings didn’t just lend her name to the camp. She arrived an hour
early, met with organizers and volunteers and did a walk-through to
demonstrate how the camp would unfold. Two deaf interpreters also worked
the camp to provide sign language of Catchings’ instructions.
note:
basketball fans know Catchings is deaf, but also that she does
not use sign language.
