Fremont football

newspaper preview

Washington (0-1) @ California School for the Deaf (3-0), Friday, 7 p.m.

Washington will have a second consecutive game against a team called the
Eagles, though this one certainly won’t be like last week’s showdown
with Harker. CSD is one of the top deaf teams in the country and was the
subject of an ESPN feature in 2016. Those Eagles are already 3-0, and
they’ve yet to play another deaf school, having run roughshod over
competition from the Sacramento area and Tahoe area.

After Tuesday’s game, we were thrilled that we won two games in a row! We
are now 2-0. Our girls did well on their skills and teamwork however we
will need to work on stamina and keeping our skill levels high instead of
lowering ourselves to the opposing team’s skills.

Junior Lindsay Hand killed it with 13 kills and 4 aces, Freshman Victoria
Baca had 7 kills and 4 serve aces, and Junior Andrea Leyba chipped in with
