Fremont cross country

The highlight of the week will be this Saturday where CSD 8 runners will
compete along with 1,368 runners in the Northern Coast Section Cross
Country Meet in Hayward!

Athlete of the Week – AMANDA VEGA.  Our junior runner is a highly
dedicated and hardworking runner who gives her full effort every week to
do her best.  An example of her determination is showing up to practices
all the time ready with her goals to trim her times every time she attends
the same courses, which she has done.  Congratulations!

Louisiana girls’ basketball

We only had 4 days of practice prior to our first game today! Our first
game was against CHPC and we lost 19-35. Our girls did a great job on
Defense, so we roll need to work on our offense and reduce the turnovers.

Riverside middle school football clarification

in a previous posting a comment was made that the middle
school team is the best among deaf middle school teams
across the nation.

The comment came from an individual that is not employed
at the school.

The athletic department has regretted that comment
and wishes to stress that it is not reflective of
the department’s mission, goals and objectives.

Thank you

Which is worse – delayed mail delivery or email messages
that didn’t go through?

Way back in the eighties, DeafDigest Sports editor
used to cover track and field in deaf schools.

One spring, DeafDigest Sports editor completed tabulating
mythical National Deaf Prep track and field championships
on a 10-8-6-4-2-1 point system. Late in August, there was
a delayed mail delivery from Wyoming School for the Deaf.
The postmark date was timely but the delivery was delayed.

The entry from Wyoming School for the Deaf had a pole vaulter
who easily was #1 in the nation.

It forced re-tabulating of these 10-8-6-4-2-1 points system.
