Maryland track

Results from Urbana Invitational (3/23)

MSD boys team finished 11th out of 17 schools.  Enow Otto (10th gr) earned
all of his team points by placed first in long jump (19?9?) and fourth in
triple jump (38’5)
(38?5?).

MSD girls team placed 15th with 6 team points by 400M relay team which
finished 4th (53.97) with Sierra Herzig-Wilcox, Milana Bielucke, Cassidy
Perry, and Rajena Guettler.

Ice Swimming World Championship last week.

In all, 93 swimmers from 22 countries competed in the championship, which
was held in a 25m swimming pool carved out of Murmansks frozen Lake
Semenovskoe.

Irelands Patricia Heffernan, who won gold in her age category for the
Arctic Cup 500m Freestyle, received a special award for being the first
deaf swimmer to complete an ice swim at 0 C

Gallaudet men’s basketball fundraising to travel to Costa Rica this August

WASHINGTON – The Gallaudet University men’s basketball program is raising
funds to help support its summer international trip to Costa Rica. The
Bison are working with Beyond Sports Tours on the logistics of the trip
and raising money for the team through Mighty Cause.

The GU men’s basketball team is hoping to become the first Gallaudet
athletics team to make an international trip in school history. As part of
the trip, the Bison will volunteer with Costa Rica’s Special Olympics.
Plus, the team plans to host a free basketball clinic for deaf students in
Costa Rica.
