Eat Chipotle, help Gallaudet University Men’s Basketball

Calling all burrito lovers,

Foil your dinner plans and stop by the Chipotle at 40 Massachusetts Ave NE in
Washington for our fundraiser on Monday, May 06 from 4:00pm – 8:00pm. We’re
raising money to support Gallaudet University Men’s Basketball, so just download
a flyer from the link below or mention the fundraiser at checkout and they’ll
donate 33% of the proceeds to the cause!

Hi Gallaudet Basketball supporters,

We are doing this fundraiser to support our basketball team’s trip to Costa Rica
this August for our first ever summer foreign tour as permitted by the NCAA and
done in many other universities but never done at Gallaudet. We will do two
community services while at Costa Rica; a free clinic for Deaf children in Costa
Rica and the Special Olympics along with playing 3 games in Costa Rica.

Coming to eat at Chipotle at the Union Station on Monday, May 6 between 4 to 8
pm and showing them our flyer will be sure that 33% will go to the Basketball
team. You can show them the flyer from your phone.

Please do help share this with other people as the more that come to eat there,
will help us greatly! Again, just be sure to show the cashier our flyer on your
mobile phone or print the flyer.

If you cannot come, please do consider making a tax deductible donation, any
amount is appreciated and helpful and adds up quickly to:

https://www.gallaudetathletics.com/department/donate

and put “Gallaudet Men’s Basketball Costa Rica” in the comment box.

Thank you for your support in advance.

the GU Bison Men’s Basketball TEAM

Can’t wait to see you!

college deaf athlete, baseball

Chase Smartt

senior

catcher

Troy University (Alabama, NCAA-I)

he was drafted by Atlanta Braves as a high school
senior but turned it down.

Throughout his career, his batting average was low.

in his final season of play, he is currently hitting .305,
which is his career best – 47 of 154 at bats; 4 homers
and one of the team leaders with 30 ribbies.

He played and started 41 of his team’s 45 games

Will he be drafted again? We shall see as majore league
teams are not as interested in catchers’ batting averages
as they are with his ability to handle pitchers and
to handle wild pitches and pitches that bounce off
the turf.
