note:
Gabrielino High School is a 5-A team in all sports
in California. In volleyball they are currently
17-5 and, according to maxpreps, are ranked as the
266th best team in California and 2538th best in
the nation. It is a huge high school of some
1,800 students, meaning a pool of 900 girls to
draw from.

Yet, Maryland improved in points in each game
with them; 12 then 18 and then 22 points.

What this means is that a top notch 1-A school
can compete neck to neck with a top notch 5-A
school!

random deafsports talk

DeafDigest Sports applauds Jesse Bailey for making
the Spike Out event a smashing success at
Riverside.

Just wished there were 6 teams each in both Big
and Small School divisions.

Five schools each does not create a smooth
movement among teams that advance to the
championship and the consolation finals.
