Football
Bison spoil Castleton’s Homecoming with 28-27 overtime victory

The Bison showed resiliency in the second half and pure grit in overtime
to defeat the Spartans, 28-27, and silence a crowd of 3,387. Castleton
scored first in overtime but missed the PAT kick. Gallaudet scored on its
overtime possession and extra point kick by Jack Gray clinched the win.

Wheeler helps Gallaudet win four of its six first-place finishes against
Southern Virginia

WASHINGTON – It was a neck-and-neck women’s swimming meet here Saturday
between Gallaudet University and visiting Southern Virginia University in
the Field House Pool. In the end, Southern Virginia escaped with a 125-108
win over Gallaudet (0-2). The Bison won six of the 14 events.

Sophomore Anquniece Wheeler (Detroit, Mich.) won three individual events
and was on a first-place relay.

Sealts wins three events for GU in non-conference meet with Southern
Virginia

WASHINGTON – Gallaudet University dropped its men’s swimming
non-conference meet, 150-92, here Saturday to Southern Virginia University
in the Field House Pool.

Gallaudet (0-2) won three of the 14 events as sophomore Ben Sealts
(Ottawa, Ohio) led the way. Sealts won the 100-yard butterfly with a time
of 57.45 seconds as he split time of 27.13 seconds helped to set the tone.
He followed that with a first-place finish in the 100-yard breaststroke

NEAC’s top team too much for Gallaudet on the road

KEUKA PARK, N.Y. – The Gallaudet University women’s soccer team ran into
the top team in the North Eastern Athletic Conference (NEAC) here Saturday
as Keuka College handed the Bison a 3-0 loss.

GU moves up the NEAC women’s volleyball standings with two wins

LANCASTER, Pa. – It was a big day for the Gallaudet University women’s
volleyball team here Saturday at Lancaster Bible College as the Bison
picked up two North Eastern Athletic Conference (NEAC) wins against SUNY
Poly, 3-0, and SUNY Cobleskill, 3-1.

Gallaudet (7-20, 4-2 NEAC) moves up the conference standings with the two
wins and is now in a four-way tie for third place.

Johnson nets game-winner in overtime to lift Gallaudet to victory

KEUKA PARK, N.Y. – Sophomore forward Chad Johnson (Gardena, Calif.) scored
the game-winning goal in the sixth minute of the first overtime to stun
Keuka College, 1-0, here Saturday in a North Eastern Athletic Conference
(NEAC) contest.

Gallaudet (1-10-1, 1-5 NEAC) and Keuka (3-8-1, 2-4 NEAC) played to a
scoreless tie through the first 90 minutes of play to force the extra
period

Record:  4-0 (league) 4-2 (overall)

I know these scores didn’t count, but I gave them my applause because they
did play hard.  We were actually lead 20-8, then 20-22 at the halftime.
Five turnovers cost us at the second half.  Mississippi earned 28
unanswered
points.   Hat off on Mississippi team.

Next game:  we will host Minnesota State Academy for the Deaf on October
26
(6-man).  Then play Life Christian Academy (8-man) on October 31 for the
last football game.
