Fremont sports

Four runners competed in the Northern Coast Section Championships during
the fall break and made CSD very proud.  They had a long season and we
applaud them for
their persistence from day one to end.

WINTER SPORTS BEGINS –

We had a scrimmage before the fall break and this week we will have our
first games tomorrow in the sports of JV Boys Basketball, Varsity Boys
Basketball, and
Varsity Girls Basketball.  On Saturday, we will go to Riverside for the
Battle of California!  Stay tuned to our updates on our Instagram and
Twitter pages

ATHLETE OF THE WEEK –

AMANDA VEGA – She has been our unsung hero in many different occasions.
In Cross Country alone, she has been a tireless worker for three years.
Each of those
years, she has consistently improved her times.  In addition to that, her
attitude and commitment has been exemplary!

Varsity Boys vs Genoa Christian – Lost

OSD                            8-17-27-44
Genoa Christian                19-22-28-51

Record 0-1

Oklahoma Boys Basketball

Oklahoma – 52 Millcreek – 49

Record: 1-0

I’m so proud of my boys who did do well on our first game.  Also, we
finally defeated Millcreek which we did not beat them since 1990’s.  It
has been almost 30
years to break Millcreek’s winning streak.  We will play another game
tomorrow to play with Paoli in our first home game

Soccer coach proves deafness is no hindrance to career on touchline

part of newspaper story

London (AFP) – Ben Lampert is not a stereotypical soccerfootball coach.
Instead of yelling from the touchline, the deaf trainer issues his
instructions in sign language.

He is a coach with Brentford FC Community Sports Trust, a team in
England’s second-tier Championship (sort of baseball’s low class A
minor league team).

better late than never

USA men’s soccer team defeated Argentina 1-0
to win the Pam American championship. A
caveat – that tournament only involved five
nations. Participating nations were Argentina,
Mexico, Brazil and Chile.

USA deaf women’s volleyball team

won the gold medal at the 2019 Pan American Deaf
Volleyball Regional Qualification in Brazil. The
team did not lose a set during the tournament.

random deafsports talk

Today DeafDigest Sports received an email from a disappointed
fall season coach whose best athlete was not honored nor was
the school mentioned on the list of schools with these won/lost
records.

The school’s new athletic director paid no attention to
these DeafDigest Sports daily news.

The retiring athletic director did explain these deaf sports
reporting procedures to the new athletic director. For some
reason the new athletic director did not understand.

As a result, the school’s best athlete is not being
recognized and the school’s team is not on the won/lost
list of schools in that sport.

This is sad.
