American Boys Basketball team traveled to Fisher Island.

Boys started off slow in the first quarter and missed easy layups. In the
2nd/3rd quarters, we moved the ball well fasted-pace and played solid
defense.  The
starters turned over the lead to the bench who finished off the game
playing most of fourth quarter.

The final score 60-39

12/19 vs. Moses Brown School –

In our last game of the 2019 season before turning the page over to 2020
— we played host to Moses Brown School. MB is a good program with good
foundations and kids who play aggressive, so this would be a good test for
our Roosters. They kicked off the game with a 11-0 before we were finally
able to get our first points of the game more than halfway through the
first half.

Moses Brown held a 16-6 halftime lead. Our team attempted to refocus in
the second half, but the mistakes kept on accumulating and MB took
advantage, coasting in the second half to a 49-15 victory.

MB –    16  33  – 49
RISD –  6   9   – 15

Jayden E.  – 9 Points, 13 Rebounds

RISD Girls Basketball

12/19 vs. Moses Brown School –

Our girls’ basketball team had one more game on our home court before we
wrapped up for the holidays break, with Moses Brown School coming to our
gym. We played each other last year to a close 20-15 defeat, so we were
hoping to get the best of them this time around.

Moses Brown threw a new 2-3 defensive look on us that our girls hadn’t
prepared for and it worked to Moses Brown’s advantage as they ran out to a
20-2 halftime lead. We were able to adjust at halftime and kept up with
Moses Brown, but was never able to eat away at the 18-point halftime
deficit despite a late rally in the closing minutes. Our girls lost 33-15.

MB –    20   13  – 33
RISD –   2   13  – 15

Olivia C. – 6 Points, 12 Rebounds
Yasmin S. – 5 Points, 8 Rebounds

RISD Girls Basketball Record: 2-2
Next Game: 1/11 @ Delaware School for the Deaf
