Cold-shooting Bison toppled on the road at Penn College

WILLIAMSPORT, Pa. – The Gallaudet University men’s basketball team lost
74-60 here on the road Saturday to Penn College in a North Eastern
Athletic Conference
(NEAC) game.

Gallaudet (2-14, 2-5 NEAC) had an off-day shooting as the Bison only made
19 of 66 shots from the field (28.8 percent), the second-lowest percentage
this season. Penn College (5-11, 3-4 NEAC) held GU to only five 3-pointers out

(81.0) as it made 17 of 21 shots.

wheelchair basketball

The Cincinnati Dragons Varsity Wheelchair Basketball Team finished in 4th
place out of 12 teams at the Big Peach Slam Jam in Atlanta this weekend.
This is one of the more prestigious regular season tournaments in
wheelchair basketball – 4 of the top 5 and 6 of the top 10 nationally
ranked teams were competing.  The Dragons (who entered the tournament
ranked #3 in the country) suffered losses to #1 Milwaukee, #2 Atlanta and
#5 Houston while defeating #9 ranked Charlotte 59-36.

Kerwin Haake, a deaf junior from Henry Clay HS in Lexington KY, was named to the
all-tournament 2nd team.  In the Dragons’ loss to #2 ranked Atlanta, the
Dragons trailed by 2 points with 5 seconds left.  Kerwin shot a long
3-pointer at the buzzer that went halfway down and bounced out – barely
missing what would have been a game-winning shot.  The Dragons will be
back in action on February 8-9 at the Midwest Conference Championships in
Chicago.

Why isn’t Derrick Coleman playing football this season?

He wanted to, and in fact, he tried out for five
different teams this season but no one signed him.
