Florida girls’ basketball

Florida at Crescent City Raiders – 1/30/20

Final Score: 52-12 (First game – 35-12)

Well, the score says it all. We captured the last win of the season. Yes, it’s
sad to say our last win because it was our last game for 2019-2020 basketball
season. In first two minutes of that game, it did not come easy, we missed many
easy layups. After the timeout, we started to pick up the rhythm after our Lady
Dragons began to utilize their learned skills from this season. After 1st
quarter, all girls were able to play, and they did an awesome job on the
defensive side. We also shined on the offensive side, constantly attacking the
basket as everyone on the team scored! Our dear two Seniors, Shylah Thomas and
Samantha Suarez, played with their heart. Shylah Thomas finished with 6 points
and 5 rebounds while Samantha had 2 points and 7 rebounds! We will miss them!
Lastly, we love how our Lady Dragons finished their season. They were expected
to finish it strong, and they finished it stronger! We are proud of our Lady
Dragons!

Thank you for all your support this year and see you next year!

random DeafSports thoughts

Should Clerc have moved its tournament
dates to the end of the basketball
season rather than just after the
Holidays?

Perhaps, but it won’t work. Immediately
after the basketball season, there is
track and other spring sports. And
some of the stronger teams would be
forced to make a choice – participating
in Clerc or in their home area conference
championships.
