Riverside girls’ basketball

In their first playoff action of the year against Faith Baptist of Canoga
Park, the girls’ varsity team got off to a slow start in the first
quarter, 15-4, but
found their momentum in the second quarter to bring themselves within 10
points by halftime, at 24-14.   The Cubs owned the third quarter
outscoring FB 15 to 8, but
could not overcome their 4th quarter mistakes and lost to FB by the score
of 45-36, to end their season.

Overall, the girls did a terrific job this season, posting a 17-7 season
record, which is an improvement from 14-10 last year.   The good news is
that we have
everyone returning next year.   I want to thank Norman Weiss, Ida Dotson
and Peter Trzesniewski for their time, excellent coaching, and patience
with the girls.
We look forward to the off season work with the girls and with
improvement on their skills and basketball IQ, the future looks bright for
the 2020-2021 Cubs.

Onward to next year!

random DeafSports talk

Clerc as nation’s toughest high school
tournament, either deaf or hearing?

Yes, DeafDigest Sports thinks so!

We’ve had teams that “don’t do well”
at Clerc, yet come home and whip all
these hearing teams in their own
conference/league/district/regional
tournaments!

Something deaf basketball fans could
be proud of.
