We had a fun game tonight. Saw a lot of skills being applied and
attempted. Our first set, the girls weren’t moving as much. The next three
sets, their energy
improved so did their movement. We had a phenomenal night of serving. We
achieved our first win tonight. I’m very proud of the girl’s, both on and
off the court

St Mary’s soccer

The Bisons were back on the pitch this afternoon after a long year with no
sports. The team was excited to engage in some meaningful matches. Our
squad started off
their regular season with a NFCAA league game against Amherst Christian.
It took our team a little bit to find our legs but once we started
competing, we were able
to control the game. Senior, Ethan Antone was able to put 3 goals passed
our opponents keeper while Senior, Brady Bartell and Sophmore Farhad
Ghorbani each tallied
1 goal a piece. Our defense and Sophmore goalie Saul Alvira was able to
contain the other team and limit them to only 2 shots against for the
entire game. The
Bisons were victorious 5-2. Our next contest is this Thursday at home in
another league match against the Falk school.

Overall Record: 1-0
Individual Stats:
Ethan Antone- 3 goals
Brady Bartell- 1 goal
Farhad Ghorbani- 1 goal

retirement of a superstar

Paul Rabil has announced his retirement from pro lacrosse.

While continuing to play at a high level as a pro, he was
responsible for the split in the world of pro lacrosse.

For years he played in Major League Lacrosse but didn’t like
the way the league was operated and so, broke away and
helped, with other influential lacrosse players, to set up
a rival league – Premier Lacrosse League. Both rival leagues
eventually merged.

Rabil is hearing impaired; not sure of the degree of his
hearing loss, but he functions as a hearing person, not
using ASL.

big deaf soccer & basketball tournament

from a tweet

Over 1,000 participants from 22 African countries will be in attendance.
There will be 16 deaf football teams and 8 deaf basketball teams in the

note:

In USA and Canada we call it soccer; in the rest of the world
soccer is called football (not the same as USA football, just
soccer)

Can a deaf AD function well in hearing high school athletics?

More or less on a case by case basis.
