Dedication

DeafDigest Sports dedicates this edition to Dennis Palka,
that departed us.

Below is from Jeff Bravin, the Executive Director,
American School for the Deaf
It is with deep heart that I share this news.  I was informed Saturday
morning that Dennis Palka, our beloved alumni and faculty of ASD has
passed away.  It was unexpected and I’m still in shock.

Dennis Palka has been with ASD for more years that any one of us can
imagine, he’s a beloved Alumni and Faculty of the school.  He has
undertaken so many roles at the school in our academic programs,
athletic programs, international programs, alumni relations among
many other activities.  He was also a former Federation President, a
leader in the Deaf and Hard of Hearing community, very involved with
Hartford Club of the Deaf.

He sorely will be missed by everyone and may he rest in peace.

editor’s note:
At Gallaudet, he was a member of the baseball team.
