Chase Smartt

sophomore

baseball

Troy University

his profile is at:
http://www.troytrojans.com/roster.aspx?rp_id=5693

started all 47 of his team’s games, but hit only
.230 (41 hits in 178 at bats)

hit two homers but only drove in 17 runs

his poor stats is somewhat surprising because
he was drafted by Atlanta Braves, but chose
to go to college. Major league teams would not
waste their draft choices on prospects with
modest stats? Maybe he did not live up to his
impressive high school stats?
