2017 Gallaudet University Athletics Hall of Fame Class announced

WASHINGTON – Five former student-athletes, one coach and one athletic
trainer will be enshrined into the Gallaudet University Athletics Hall of
Fame on Sunday, Oct. 22, as part of Homecoming 2017.

The Gallaudet Athletics Hall of Fame Class of 2017 includes James
DeStefano, ’85 (Men’s Basketball Coach), Easter Fa’afiti, ’12 (Women’s
Basketball), Tamijo Foronda, ’07 (Women’s Volleyball), Joseph Fritsch
(Honorary Contributor), Robert Haney, Jr., ’08 (Men’s Basketball), Brandy
Otto, ’93 (Women’s Volleyball) and Tony Tatum, ’12 (Football).

A brunch will be held in their honor on Sunday morning (Oct. 22) at 9 a.m.
in the Ole Jim on the campus of Gallaudet University. The dress for the
ceremony is business casual.

The Gallaudet Athletics Hall of Fame Induction is one of the premier
events of the year for the GU Athletics Department. The special event
recognizes the men and women, past and present, whose contributions to
Gallaudet University Athletics have been deemed worthy of induction into
the Gallaudet Athletics Hall of Fame.

Gallaudet men’s and women’s cross country 2017 schedules released

WASHINGTON – The Gallaudet University men’s and women’s cross country
program has officially released its 2017 fall schedule as announced by
head coach Byron Moore.

Gallaudet football player becomes police officer

part of newspaper story

Scott Daily is a Sr. Peace Officer with the Tarleton State University
Police Department (Texas)

Daily would go on to graduate from Kansas School for the Deaf in 1989. 
While attending high school, he enjoyed playing football. Daily lined up
at linebacker and fullback, and even played some quarterback.  He would
continue his education at Gallaudet University in Washington, D.C. where
he also played quarterback, cornerback and fullback.

St. Johns County athletics 2016-17 Year in Review: Beacon of Hope Eagles,
FSDB Dragons

Florida School for the Deaf and the Blind senior Megan Lockner may have
been the best example of that. She was named to the DeafDigest volleyball
All-American team
