Glenwood’s Benson recalls winning gold at Deaf Hockey Championships

Following years of hard work on the ice and in the weight room, Glenwood
Parks and Recreation worker and recently promoted rink manager Troy Benson
claimed a gold medal at the Deaf Hockey World Championships in Amhurst, N.Y.,
April 29 with a 6-3 win over Canada in the final game.

note:
How many deaf individuals are rink managers? This one is a rink manager.
Not easy being a rink manager, communicating with angry hockey coaches
and angry figure skaters, needing ice time for themselves! And making
sure the hockey rink is in good shape at 2 AM when teams practice
at such an unholy hour.
