FSK Post 11 riding high at right time

Frederick legion team continues surge with fourth straight district win

Maryland SD rising senior Stefan Anderson is a member of the summer
baseball team; he plays LF and RF and has started and relieved some
games

the mention of him in the newspaper is this:

“They’re playing well, they’re playing really well,” FSK Post 11
coach Tom Long said. “Got two good pitching performances out of Ryan
[Berry] and Stefan [Anderson] today.

Anderson (two hits, one earned run, two strikeouts and one walk) fired
four stout innings in relief, including hitless innings in the fourth,
fifth and sixth.

“I was just throwing strikes today,” Anderson said. “Kept my
change-up low, my curve outside, away. Threw my fastball inside and forced
them to swing or lock them up.”

The Minnesota State Academy for the Deaf boys lose another talented senior
class that featured Kyrell Cummings, John Fechter, Dawson Moder and Javis
Johnson. It will be up to incoming seniors like Juan Salgado, Will Bondhus,
Adam Rohde and Jonathan Schmidt, among others to keep the Trojans rolling on
the gridiron.

deaf pitcher in independent minor league

LINCOLN, Neb. — Saltdogs relief pitcher Dimitri Kourtis is returning to
the diamond as a true rookie after sitting out two years for Tommy John
surgery.

However, Kourtis’ biggest obstacle came not two years ago, but ever since
he can remember.

The baseball standout has had hearing loss since birth, which has forced
him to wear hearing aids at all times.

Although the obstacle has posed its challenges, Kourtis has adapted to
life differently and is doing it his own way.

note:
Lincoln Saltdogs is not part of the organized minor league
system. It is a member of the American Association of Independent
Professional Baseball. According to the team’s web site which is
very difficult to navigate, he has pitched 11 games, starting
once, going 18.2 innings, with a 2.41 ERA

Deaf soccer: Friendship match for Japan and Korea

A Deaf soccer friendship match by Japan and Korea, sponsored by the
Japanese Deaf Soccer Association, was held in Munakata-shi, Fukuoka
Prefecture located in
Japan’s southern island on June 10.

Japan won easily with 4-0.

Danton Hyman, Legally Deaf, Overcomes Odds to Become Two-Time All-Star

After being born legally deaf, Woodstock River Bandits outfielder Danton
Hyman started wearing hearing aids at the age of two, but that’s never
affected his passion for baseball.
