GU’s Jack Gray named to the D3football.com Team of the Week

MINNEAPOLIS – Gallaudet University freshman strong safety Jack Gray
(Atherton, Calif.) was named to the D3football.com Team of the Week after
a stellar debut with the Bison last Saturday night at Shenandoah
University. This is Gray’s first time receiving the honor and only the
seventh time in Gallaudet history that a player has earned this
distinction.

The D3football.com Team of the Week honor is a prestigious one,
equivalent to a “Weekly All-American team” if it exists!

from newspaper story
Halifax scores twice in 15 seconds to shut out FSDB 12-0

Toure Mack put Daytona Beach Halifax Academy on the scoreboard with a
second-quarter touchdown run. Fifteen seconds later, the senior was in the
end zone again.

coach’s comments
We played against Halifax Academy today. We lost to them.  The score was 0
to 12. 12 points came in 2 big turnovers. We can’t afford mistake
turnovers. It was big hurt with 2 turnovers. Our kickoff player fumbled
it.  The punter snapper released the ball  to the punter in the air.  It
was a bad snapper and high over to the punter.  The defense was
outstanding.  Two top defensive players are Liam Von Mahr and Alex
Aldridge.  The offense was struggled due to lack of blocking.  We made
many opportunities to move the ball in offense but we continue to work in
blocking.

I am so proud of the boys fought so hard against Halifax s speedy players.

First half 0 to 12.

Second half. 0 to 0

Tonight’s was a bit of a roller coaster.  The girls had a rocky start in
Game 1, but it wasn’t too bad.  Game 2, they showed us what they are
really capable of and played a great game.  They had great serves, passes,
sets, and hits.  Then, a switch
flipped and they were definitely not playing Dragon Volleyball for Games 3
and 4.  Game 2 gave them a target of what they need to do.  Now, they have
to put it together and do it for a solid match to get a WIN!

The next game will be at University Christian in Jacksonville on Tuesday,
September 5. JV plays at 5:00 and Varsity plays at 6:00.

fake hearing aid in baseball

from a web posting

The YES Network’s telecast captured Fister walking around in the Sox
dugout in the top of the eighth inning, once his outing  was over, with
the mouthpiece lodged around his ear. It did give the appearance of a
bulky hearing aid, but also was not a mystery that required MLB’s
involvement to solve.

A review of the telecast did not show Fister ever took the mound Friday
with the mouthguard around his ear.
