Gallaudet volleyball

Bison drop five-set match to McDaniel in home opener

WASHINGTON – In a highly contested and spirited women’s volleyball match,
Gallaudet University and McDaniel College went toe-to-toe in a five-set
thriller on Tuesday night before a spirited Field House crowd. The
visiting Green Terror came away with the 3-2 victory to defeat the Bison
in their home opener on Padden Court.

Gallaudet men’s soccer

Gallaudet begins homestand with close game with Marymount (Va.)

WASHINGTON – The Gallaudet University men’s soccer team began a four-game
homestand here Tuesday evening at Hotchkiss Field against nearby Marymount
(Va.) University. The Bison played a clean game and produced more scoring
chances in a tightly contested game. Marymount (1-4) earned its first win
of the season with the 2-0 shutout over the Bison (0-4).

American soccer

American School for the Deaf hosted Midstate Christian for our first home
game of the season.  Our team did outstanding job with short time of
practice and some conflicts.  We have a lot of new faces and challenges. 
It will be great year.  American School for the Deaf defeated Midstate
Christian, 8-0.  American School for the Deaf record 1-0.  Our next tough
opponent will be at Lexington on Thursday the 14th.

Maryland boys cross country

Tri-Cross Country Meet at Covenant Life School – Gaithersburg, MD

After a 20-year break, the MSD varsity boys revived its cross country
squad. The team traveled to Gaithersburg for MSD’s first cross country
meet in two decades, competing against Covenant Life School and Frederick
Home School Warriors. MSD Senior Esteban Kovacs placed first out of 12
runners with a time of 21:38.36 minutes, despite having run more than 400m
on the wrong side of the course initially. Junior Tyler Glennon finished
fourth with 25:10.31 minutes, and Junior Justin Gonzales, an exchange
student from the Philippines, finished the race in 43:16 minutes. We look
forward to improving our personal best times and learning new techniques
for our next meet.

New Mexico volleyball

Last night was our first district game vs Walatowa.  The scores show close
games but do not reflect the actual game play.  The Roadrunners were not
prepared for the game and made mental mistakes.  The team was not happy
with their performance on the court and will work on improving.  Sophomore
Mya Malone had 11 serve aces.

Next game:  NMSD vs ECA: Thursday , September 14th @ 5 pm @ Larson gym.

all 3 sets. We are still developing our skills and strategies. McKenna
Girod got 2 aces and Mariana Menzynski got 2 kills.
