Marie Philip boys’ basketball

MPS 54 Waldorf 37

In first half our boys didn’t play well to start the game. Turnovers and
cold shooting kept us in close game with Waldorf of Mass Bay. Our boys
left to locker room with lead 18-10. We know that we should have played
better than this. Review and plan better, the boys came out to storm with
better outcome with our shooting and reduced our turnovers. We got big
lead then later Waldorf started to press against our second and third
string players. They refused to give up, we had to return some starters to
keep our leading all the way to the buzzer.  Dylan Christoffels found his
shooting form and led with 20 points, 11 rebounds and 3 assists. Kacey
Monahan and Kyle added with 15 points and 11 points. It was a good victory
on our first home court and put us a win column in our league.

Record 2-1, MBIL 1-0.

Next game vs. Fanwood at MPS @ 530pm this Friday.

Rochester girls’ basketball

The Wildcats surprised the Finney team to take a big lead in first half
(20-9). They played extremely well in the game. However, Finney JV stepped
up in the 2nd half to use the full court woman to woman. They kept fighting
against us for rest of 2nd half. They finally took a lead in last few
seconds left. We lost by 3 points at the end of the game. But again, we
played well!

Emma Kane got 5 assists, 3 steals, and 6 points. Cah’ryn Moquette also
earned 7 points and 12 rebounds while Julia Ott scored 6 and 8 rebounds.

Record: 1-1
