Q & A on Deaf Sports issues

Q. What is the future of football in
deaf schools?

A. Good question. DeafDigest Sports is
worried about the future. In 11-man
football, roster numbers should be
at least 25-30 players, but some
deaf 11-man teams only have maybe
17-20 players. In 8-man football,
roster numbers should be around 14-15
players, but some deaf 8-man teams
only have 10-12 players. And
even in 6-man football (regardless
of different rules in different
states and conferences) some schools
just only have 7-8 players. This
is all so worrisome!
