A clarification re below

It was always assumed that Gallaudet varsity never played
against NTID club in any sport, because of NCAA rules
not allowing NTID to field its own intercollegiate
varsity athletic programs.

Well, one time it did.

Gallaudet fielded varsity volleyball programs between
1974 and 1988, and again few years ago for one varsity
season.

In the 1983 volleyball season, Gallaudet faced NTID
club team.

Gallaudet won 3-0.

Never again would both teams play each other in volleyball.

note – clarification

it was men’s volleyball, not women’s volleyball that
Gallaudet varsity played against NTID club
