DeafDigest dedicates this edition to Ruth Seeger who
departed us. As a long time teacher at Texas School for
the Deaf, she was a role model for her students to
look up to.

note:
her legacy continues with the annual Berg/Seeger
national deaf track meet.

random deafsports thoughts

Many strong NCAA-III athletic programs are actually
NCAA-I in disguise. For some reason these talented
athletes were not able to get NCAA-I scholarship
offers and thusly settle for NCAA-III programs.

One NCAA-I player, thrown out of his football team,
landed at a NCAA-III program which had a game against
Gallaudet.

He was just an ordinary player. Apparently he lost
interest in football after realizing it was not actually
NCAA-I and played lazy in the game against Gallaudet!

elite deaf athlete, Overwatch

Is Overwatch a sport? More schools are adding it to
the list of their varsity sports.

Anyway, the Overwatch player Maxim76 is deaf, and
he was widely written up in a newspaper story.
