Gallaudet athletics launches fundraising campaign

WASHINGTON – The Gallaudet University athletics department launched its
first online fundraising campaign to benefit Bison student-athletes. The
campaign kicked off on Tuesday, May 7, at the annual sports banquet and
will last until September. The goal of the campaign is $56,000 within a
four-month period.

“This campaign is founded to support our athletics programs at Gallaudet
University. The money raised will enable our student-athletes and their
teams to have their best season yet,” said Gallaudet Athletic Director
Victor Mansure. “Every dollar raised makes a real difference. Anyone can
give to the campaign!”

Gallaudet has partnered with MobileCause, who helps non-profits attract
more donors and inspire giving with its fundraising and donor engagement
software and digital marketing services. MobileCause is trusted by
thousands of non-profit organizations.

“Securing a broad base of support from our community demonstrates our
value and brings more awareness to Gallaudet Athletics,” added Mansure.
“We are a tax-exempt organization under IRC 501(c)(3) and contributions
are tax deductible as donors will receive a tax receipt moments after
making their gift.”

random deaf sports

Always frustrating when there are “leading”
stories about outstanding deaf athletes in
newspapers. Click on it and there is a warning
about an infected web site. Or a newspaper
that requires payment first before reading
the story. Or the story taken down by the
newspaper. And so on.

As a result, we have lost out on these
interesting deaf sports stories!

deaf devices at 2020 Tokyo hearing Olympics

The 2020 Tokyo hearing Olympics expect some deaf
Japanese people to serve as volunteers, as well as
deaf fans from all over the world. To accommodate
these deaf people, tablet devices would be
provided, allowing them to communicate with the
hearing both ways.
