Gallaudet men’s soccer release 2019 schedule

WASHINGTON – The Gallaudet University men’s soccer program officially
released its schedule for Fall 2019 as announced by head coach Pedro Braz,
in his fifth season. The team posted its third straight five-win season
and won four conference games for the second consecutive year. The Bison
finished the 2018 campaign with a 6-11 mark and 4-7 in North Eastern
Athletic Conference (NEAC) play.

“This is most competitive and demanding schedule thus far,” said Braz.
“After four years we wanted to be in a position where we are able to
compete and defeat the top Division III programs in the area. As a program
we’re excited and getting ready for the challenge.”

The 2019 schedule features 17 games with eight at home.

Gallaudet will host three scrimmages in August during training camp before
diving into its 2019 slate.

note:

the men’s soccer team has gone a long way since this sport was
restarted five years ago after being in inactive status for
two seasons.

USA men’s and women’s basketball, as updated

from email

USA Men’s Deaf Basketball Team begins pool play at the World
Deaf Basketball Championships Friday against Greece.

In the 94-38 over Belarus, everyone played and everyone scored.

Fun to watch Michael Lizarraga play for USA men. He is a lean
machine rebounding, handling the ball, scoring inside & shooting the 3’s

Team USA’s women defeated Lithuania

USA was lucky to have Hannah Nield (20 points) and Cassidy
Perry (17) points in a 64-47 win over a smart, well-coached
Lithuanian team in pool play. Without Nield and Perry,
it would not be a win for us.

We play a difficult game tonight vs. Turkey. They have quickness,
3 point shooting & a play making guard.

random deafsports thoughts

Speaking of the World Championship basketball going
on right now, the USA teams only had a couple of practices
together whereas these European teams have been
practicing together for months to months.

Their goal is simple – just defeat the Americans.

Makes things harder for us!
