Gallaudet drops season opener to St. Mary’s (Md).

SALISBURY, Md. – A four-goal second half by St. Mary’s College of Maryland
placed the season opener out of reach from Gallaudet University as the
Bison men’s soccer team lost here Friday by four goals, 5-1, on the first
day of the Elmer Lord Classic hosted by Salisbury University.

Gallaudet (0-1) gave up a quick goal to St. Mary’s (1-0) in the opening
minute but then settled down and went into halftime only down 1-0.

The Seahawks controlled the game as they took 26 shots (15 in the second
half) and 12 corner kicks.

The Bison got on the scoreboard in the 85th minute when junior Sean
O’Callaghan (San Diego, Calif.) delivered a free kick into the goalie box
where fellow junior Raymond Mukhailov (Brooklyn, N.Y.) knocked in GU’s
first goal of the 2019 season.
