Pennsylvania basketball

11/26/19, we traveled to MKSD for our first game of this season. We were
excited and ready to play against them! Our boys team was rusty and trying
to stay sharp on the court but can’t make few baskets in with a low
scoring game. We lost 23-26.

Michael Greco – 10 pts, 10 rebounds, and 6 steals
Aquil Roane – 6 pts, 5 rebounds and 3 blocks.
Darnell Godbolt – 5 pts
Hazim Haroun – 2 pts and 9 rebounds.

It was a learning experience and in processing to learn how to work as a
team. Be sure to give them positive reinforcers when you see them.

Record 0-1

Next game on 12/2/19, Monday @ Crefeld, 3:50 PM.

random deafsports talk

One of DeafDigest Sports editor’s most unforgetable
athletic teams was the 1986 Governor Baxter
School for the Deaf soccer team (Maine).

This school had a bunch of great players. Their
goalie was born with one hand, yet he stopped
shots from going in.

The season wound down into a grueling stretch
of five games. It went like this:

Wednesday – won the hearing league regular season championship

Thursday – rest day

Friday – won the New England deaf schools soccer tournament 1st round game

Saturday – won the New England deaf schools soccer championship

Sunday – rest day

Monday – won the hearing league first round playoffs

Tuesday – rest day

Wednesday – won the hearing league championship

Thursday – rest day

Friday – first day of basketball practices

No rest for the weary; five exhausting games in a
stretch of 8 days, but won them all. Because of
low enrollment the soccer team only had 13 players,
meaning starters pretty much had to go all the
way without rest.

The team was named #1 in the nation in the first time-ever
Deaf Schools Soccer Team of the Year honors.
