8-man football team seeks homecoming opponent

Riverside 8-man football is in dire need of scheduling a deaf school for
our Homecoming next fall which will be on either Friday night or Saturday
night, Oct. 3rd or 4th.  We will also host Spike Out tournament (will have
both Div. 1 and Div. 2, up to 6-8 teams each) here that weekend so you may
bring your VB team along to make your trip worthwhile.

Please contact JJ Bailey, Athletic Director, jbailey@csdr-cde.ca.gov as
soon as possible.

VEEDERSBURG — Despite only having five players suited up for its game at
Fountain Central on Thursday night, the Indiana School for the Deaf still
found a way to pull out a 41-35 win over the Mustangs.

The Orioles (10-4) actually had to play the last 2.8 seconds and the first
two minutes of the fourth quarter with just four players after starting
center Anya Pothorski injured her elbow.

St.Mary’s Girls Basketball Results

Folks,

The Lady Bisons travelled to Global Charter School this afternoon for
their first game back after break.  It was a rough game since neither team
had played since the holiday.  There were countless jump ball situations
and many turnovers by both sides.  Global managed to build an early lead
and we could not get on the score board.  The Lady Bisons mounted a
comeback in the 4th quarter but it was too late and the result was a 28-19
loss for the Lady Bisons.

Our next game is 01/08 at Central Baptist.  Our record is 1 win and 5
losses.

random deafsports talk

DeafDigest Sports editor always feels bad when a deaf team
(in any sport) cannot defeat a hearing team.

It is always good news when a deaf team defeats
a hearing team.
