Dummy Hoy cancellation

Since last week, we have been monitoring the Coronavirus situation and how
this will impact us hosting Hoy Tournament next month.  The CSD
Administrators and other
participating schools’ Athletic Directors have been very helpful with
information and discussions on their end and I would like to thank them
for that.

It is with very heavy heart that we have decided to cancel Hoy Tournament.
This is disheartening to us because we have tried our best to evaluate the
situation and
do collaborative effort with other Deaf Schools to postpone the tournament
to late April but right now at this point, it is important for us to be
responsive and
take precautions regarding to our safety and well-being during this time
of great uncertainty.

Please stay safe and be well.

Warren Keller

random DeafSports thoughts

The cancellation of the Dummy Hoy baseball
and softball tournament reminds DeafDigest
Sports editor of many cancellations because
of the DC sniper incidents in 2002. Local
deaf football teams had to cancel a few games
for that reason.

This is sad to see Coronavirus epidemic
these days.
