Gallaudet football

Gallaudet quarterback Timel Benton selected as semifinalist for 2021 William V. Campbell Trophy
https://www.gallaudetathletics.com/sports/fball/2021-22/releases/nffhonor-benton

Benton’s career day propels Gallaudet to 42-35 victory over defending ECFC champs
https://www.gallaudetathletics.com/sports/fball/2021-22/releases/recap_dean

notes by DeafDigest Sports editor

1. a local newspaper in Dean’s hometown said Dean would win the game

2. write up pretty much sums it up; key thing was that Gallaudet
stopped Dean on downs late in the 4th quarter; last passing
attempt resulted in a sack by Gallaudet linebacker Stefan
Anderson.

3. the football scores on the ESPN football web site (NCAA-II/NCAA-III)
listed Gallaudet on the top part of Saturday scores; was not necessary
to scroll all the way down to get the Gallaudet score. Pretty much increases
the Gallaudet visibility among these NCAA-II/NCAA-III fans!

4. Next opponent is Keystone College, a brand new NCAA-III team in
its first season of play. While they are winless, their schedule seems
to be a bit tough.

random deafsports thoughts

should we call the Gallaudet football team
as Kardiac Kids, going 3-0 but winning each
game by one score, preventing these late
4th quarter opponents from scoring on their
last game possessions?

world deaf women’s volleyball champions

from a tweet

Congratulations to the Turkish Women’s Deaf Volleyball Team who beat Italy
3-2 to win the World Championships in Italy.

note:
what about USA women? Same old issue – lack of $$$$$ so didn’t send
in a team.

what about world men’s champions? No news about it anywhere!
