FSDB vs Tocoi Creek HS

Last night our six seniors had their Senior Night. Our teammates, FSDB
brothers/ sisters, families, staff, fans, and community celebrated and
honored our seniors’
commitment, successes, and contribution to our Volleyball program. We had
our last regular game.

Girls, Parents, Families, Administrators, Teachers, Staff, Fans, and
Community, thank you for contributing to our program. Thank you for your
support, dedication,
and spirit! Lastly, thank you for making this season a success!

In all three sets, the Lady Dragons tried to stay in the close game with
the Toros. The Lady Dragons trailed most of the games, but they never gave
up. They
continued to show a positive attitude and spirit. What hurt us the most
was our serves. Every game, we usually make ten to fifteen aces. Last
night we had only six
aces. Also, we made 11 service errors. That tortured us. Throughout the
season, we struggled with our serve receive, but we showed more
improvement last night. It
was not enough for us to win. We had 49 errors, while Toros had 39 errors.
If we had only 39 errors or less, we would win the game for sure! We
almost “had” it.

Our five seniors contributed seven kills, seven assists, three aces, and
twenty-one digs together. Our seniors usually add 8.4 aces, 7.6 kills, 5.1
assists, and 15
digs every game. We will miss having them on the court next year.

Lady Dragons (leaders) — Kills (18): Oceana 10, Olivia 5, Dainty 1, Debrow
1, Essex 1; Assists (16): Crook 6, Essex 3, Oceana 3, Williams 2,

St Mary’s volleyball

The Lady Bisons took on the Rochester Wildcats for the second time this
season away in Rochester. The Bisons away game winning streak was finally
put to an end in a
hard fought match. After five days of not touching a volleyball the Lady
Bisons really struggled to shake off the dust falling quickly in a 4-25
first set. After
regrouping and a few “knocks to the head” the girls seemed to remember
that they do know how to play volleyball and were determined to show it.
After zeroing in on
a few weak spots in the Rochester defense Kioney Alvira-Jurado and Julia
Bronneberg were able to rack up an impressive 7 serving aces each. All the
girls had at
least one hit during the game with Emilylynn Spillman earning her first in
game spike of her career.

The girls show great effort and control as they tried to struggle to
catchup to the Wildcats, but after two more long sets they fell to
Rochester again. Please
think about coming to watch our girls take on New Life Christian tomorrow
at 4pm as they attempt to put another notch in their win column.

announcement on Deaf All-American and Team of the Year honors

Deaf All-American honors and Team of the Year honors
will resume; there were no such honors last year because
of Covid-19 shutting down many deaf school athletic
programs.

Just a warning, though – schools that do not submit
their scores to DeafDigest Sports on a regular basis
will not be invited to turn in their nominations.

Does not matter if DeafDigest editor picks up such
scores from non-responding schools via newspaper
stories and tweets these schools still will not be invited.
Picking up scores via maxpreps still does not count as
responding schools.

DeafDigest Sports personally thanks schools that
respond on a regular basis.
