St Mary’s soccer
The Bisons wrapped up their regular season for soccer last night with a
convincing victory over Amherst Christian 6-0. The scoring was well
distributed amongst all
3 of our offensive strikers including Ethan Antone, Brady Bartell, and
Farhad Ghorbani. Our defensive was also up to the task by limiting our
opponents to only 8
shots on goal. This victory catapults us into the NFCAA playoffs next
week Tuesday against the undefeated #1 seed Chesterton Academy. Please
continue to support
our team and wish them good luck moving forward. A special congrats goes
out to Ethan Antone and Francis(Frank) Nguyen who played in their final
home game of
their high school soccer careers. We will miss you both. Bisons Forever!
Overall Record: 5-6
ESDAA Record: 1-0
NFCAA Record: 4-6
Individual Stats:
Ethan Antone- 2 goals(15th & 16th of the season)
Brady Bartell- 3 goals(8th, 9th, 10th of the season)
Farhad Ghorbani- 1 goal(13th of the aseason)
Last week off from games gave the Bisons the opportunity to heal nagging
injuries and it gave the coaches a chance to review, reinforce, and fix
some issues. That
said, today we entered the final week of our regular season against the
Falk school. The first half of the match was very competitive with both
teams putting
pressure on and scoring 2 goals per side. Our goals in the 1st half came
from Ethan Antone & Brady Bartell. After some small changes and better
communication
amongst the players on the field, we were able to explode for 4 more goals
and limit our opponent to just 1 extra point. Our 2nd string was able to
get some
valuable playing time and experience as well. The final score was 6-2.
Please wish our boys congrats on the victory. Our next game is at SMSD on
Thursday against
Amherst Christian. Please come and support your Bisons.
Thanks,
Overall Record: 4-5
ESDAA Record: 1-0
NFCAA Record: 3-6
Individual Stats:
Ethan Antone- 4 goals(11th, 12th, 13th, 14th of the season)
Brady Bartell- 2 goals(6th & 7th of the season)
